Nymphaea rudgeana is a species of waterlily found in the region spanning from Mexico to tropical South America. It has an ovoid to subglobose rhizome and thick, leathery leaves that can grow up to 35 cm in deeper water. The flower has four green or pink sepals and white to pink petals with a lemon-scented fragrance. It reproduces through cross pollination and can also produce a large number of seeds. This species can grow in salty or brackish water and has been observed in shallow waters and artificial lakes. It is a member of Nymphaea subgenus Hydrocallis and is named after Anne Rudge. Its pollinators include beetle species and it is used for various purposes by native people. It is rare in cultivation but can be easily cared for in high light conditions and fertile substrate.
