Nymphaea leibergii, also known as the dwarf waterlily or Leiberg's waterlily, is a perennial aquatic plant found in ponds and slow-moving streams across northern North America. It is a state threatened plant in Maine and Minnesota due to its infrequent populations. This plant has long smooth petioles and ovate floating leaves with 7-13 veins. Its flowers are radially symmetric with yellow stamens and white petals that open during the day and close at night. It is closely related to Nymphaea tetragona and was once thought to be the same species. However, they are now recognized as distinct species in the subgenus Nymphaea. Nymphaea leibergii is named after the botanist John Bernhard Leiberg who discovered it in the late 1800s.
