Ludwigia sedoides, also known as mosaic flower or false loosestrife, is a perennial plant with yellow flowers that bloom from June to August. It is native to Brazil and Venezuela and is typically found in wet, swampy areas. However, it has been identified as a potentially invasive species in some regions. The plant has diamond-shaped leaves that form mosaic-like rosettes and its stems are reddish and brittle. It is often used as an ornamental plant in ponds and aquariums, but its growth requires specific conditions such as sunlight and nutrients. The genus name, Ludwigia, is in honor of German botanist Christian Gottlieb Ludwig, and the species name, sedoides, refers to its resemblance to sedum plants.
