Ludwigia pilosa, also known as the hairy primrose-willow, is a perennial aquatic plant in the Onagraceae family. It flowers from late June to late November and has a velvety appearance due to its pubescent leaves and stem. The plant can grow up to 1.2 meters tall and has elliptical leaves with no petals but 4-7 yellow sepals. It produces small seeds in a dry seed pod and is a valuable resource for waterfowl and invertebrates. The plant is commonly found in wet areas such as road side ditches, ponds, and swamps, and its distribution ranges from eastern Texas to southeastern Virginia.
