Ludwigia peploides, also known as floating primrose-willow or creeping water primrose, is a species of flowering plant in the evening primrose family. It is native to Australia, New Zealand, North America, and South America, but has spread to many other continents and is considered a troublesome aquatic noxious weed. It can grow up to 2 meters long and forms mats on mud or floats in water. The plant has yellow flowers and hard, cylindrical capsules for fruit. It is highly adaptable and can reproduce easily, making it a dominant species in wetland and aquatic environments. Due to its invasive nature, it has been banned in several European countries and is listed as an invasive species in the European Union. The plant has potential medicinal and agricultural uses, but further research is needed to fully utilize its benefits.
