Ludwigia alternifolia, also known as seedbox, is a perennial plant found in central and eastern North America. It belongs to the evening primrose family and can be identified by its yellow flowers and cube-shaped seed pods. The plant grows up to 3 feet tall and has lance-shaped leaves with smooth margins. Its flowers are single and have four petals and sepals. The fruits are brown capsules with rigid sides. The plant is named after the German botanist Christian Gottlieb Ludwig and is commonly found in wet habitats with partial to full sun.
