Fuchsia summa is a plant species belonging to the Onagraceae family and is found exclusively in Ecuador, specifically in the Loja region. It grows in open areas above the tree line, at elevations ranging from 3,100 to 3,450 meters. This plant typically forms a small shrub that can reach up to half a meter in height. Its leaves are dark green and densely packed along the stems. The tube and sepals of the flower have four angles, with the sepals being slightly shorter than the petals and having green tips.
