Epilobium ciliatum, also known as fringed willowherb, is a perennial herbaceous plant found in North America, South America, and East Asia. It has thick, lance-shaped leaves and bristly hairs and glands on its stem and inflorescence. The flowers are trumpet-shaped and come in shades of white, purple, and pink. There are three recognized subspecies, but it may actually be a complex of distinct species. It is commonly found in wetlands, but can also be found in disturbed areas and roadsides. It was introduced to Eurasia and Australia and is known to spread rapidly.
