Cherry penda, also known as cherry satinash or kuranda satinash, is a tree native to north eastern Queensland. It can grow up to 35 metres (115 ft) in height with a trunk diameter of 1 metre (3 ft). It has simple, shiny dark green leaves that are paler on the underside, lance-like to elliptical in shape, and narrow at the base with a blunt point at the tip. It is found in rainforest areas along the east coast of Queensland between Cooktown and Tully, from sea level to an altitude of 1,100 metres (3,609 ft).
