The leaves are evergreen, elliptic-ovate in shape, and have a glossy green upper surface and a paler underside. The flowers are white, with five petals, and are borne in clusters of three to five. The fruits are round, orange, and about 1.5 cm in diameter. The tree is used for its edible fruits and as an ornamental plant. It is also used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
