Myrcianthes oreophila is a tree species belonging to the Myrtaceae family, native to Peru and possibly Bolivia. It can reach a height of 5-15 meters and has a beige or reddish flaky bark. The leaves are ovate to orbicular or reniform in shape, and the inflorescence is a three-flowered dichasium or single flower. This tree species is found in humid or subhumid Andean montane forests at elevations between 2500 and 4000 meters. It is mainly found in the Peruvian regions of Apurimac and Cusco, but there is also a report of its presence in Bolivia. Myrcianthes oreophila is considered an indicator species of mature vegetation.
