Micromyrtus sessilis is a plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, that is native to eastern Australia. It is a dense, spreading shrub with small, linear leaves and flowers that can be found either singly or in clusters along the branches. This plant is similar to another species, M. ciliata, but has a more northerly distribution. It grows to a height of 0.5-1.5 meters and has hairy young stems. The flowers bloom mainly in September and October and are white to pale pink in color. This species was first described in 1983 and can be found in a variety of habitats, including mallee and forest areas, at elevations above 600 meters. Its name, sessilis, comes from the Latin word meaning "sitting," referring to the flowers' short or nonexistent stems.
