Melaleuca seriata is a shrub in the myrtle family, endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It grows up to 1m tall and has small, silky-haired branchlets. The leaves are narrow oval in shape and vary in size. The flowers are arranged in heads on the ends of branches and are pink, purple, or mauve in color with yellow tips. The stamens give the flower its color and are arranged in five bundles. The fruit are woody capsules. This plant was first described in 1839 by John Lindley and its specific epithet, seriata, refers to the oil glands in the leaves. It is found in various regions in Western Australia and usually grows in sand over laterite or clay. It is not considered a threatened species and has been successfully cultivated in temperate areas.
