Melaleuca phoidophylla is a unique plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, that is found only in the south-west region of Western Australia. It is easily identified by its leaf arrangement, small raised blisters on the leaves, and clusters of white or cream flowers that bloom in spring. This shrub can reach up to 6 meters in height and has linear to narrow egg-shaped leaves. Its flowers, which appear in September to November, are followed by woody fruit capsules. The plant was first described in 1999 and its name comes from the Greek words for "blister" and "leaf". Melaleuca phoidophylla is found in sandy or clayey soils near lakes and areas that are seasonally flooded. It is not considered a threatened species by the Government of Western Australia.
