Melaleuca linophylla is a plant native to the north-west of Western Australia and belongs to the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It is a bushy shrub with narrow leaves and cream-coloured flowers that bloom in spring. Its unique feature is its urn-shaped fruits, which distinguish it from other melaleucas. This plant can grow up to 3 meters in height and has profuse spikes of flowers containing 30 to 70 individual flowers. It was first described in 1862 and its specific epithet, linophylla, may refer to its leaf similarity to a species of Linum. Melaleuca linophylla is found in stony and sandy soils along creek edges in the Gascoyne, Great Sandy Desert, and Pilbara regions. It is not considered a threatened species and can be grown in well-drained soil in horticulture.
