Melaleuca linearis, also known as narrow-leaved bottlebrush, is a medium-sized shrub endemic to New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. It has narrow leaves with a rigid point and produces red flower spikes in late spring or early summer. The plant has grey, fibrous bark and its leaves are arranged alternately. The flowers are arranged in spikes on the ends and sides of branches, and are followed by woody capsules. There are two varieties of this plant, with slight differences in leaf width and number of stamens per flower. It has been described as a synonym of Callistemon linearis, but there is ongoing debate about its classification. Melaleuca linearis is commonly grown in gardens and is resistant to pests. It has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
