Melaleuca lasiandra is a plant native to the northern inland of Australia and belongs to the myrtle family, Myrtaceae. It is a large shrub or small tree with silvery-grey foliage covered in soft, silky hairs. The flowers are yellowish green or white and arranged in heads at the ends of branches. The stamens are hairy and the fruit are woody capsules. This plant was first described in 1862 and its specific epithet, lasiandra, refers to its shaggy or woolly male stamens. It is found in the tropical north-west of Australia and is commonly found in depressions between sand dunes. It is not considered a threatened species and is often used in horticulture for its hardiness and suitability as a hedge or screen plant.
