Melaleuca foliolosa is a unique plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, that is native to northern Queensland, Australia. It is known for its small triangular leaves that are pressed against the stem and almost overlap each other. This tree can reach up to 10 meters in height and has white or greyish papery bark. Its flowers are cream to greenish white and are arranged in short spikes or spherical heads. The plant is an important part of the environment for the endangered Golden-shouldered parrot and is also host to two mistletoe species. Melaleuca foliolosa was first described in 1866 and can be found throughout the Cape York Peninsula in various habitats such as woodlands, savannahs, and near coastal salt pans.
