Melaleuca brophyi is a small to medium-sized shrub in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, that is native to the south-west region of Western Australia. It has fleshy leaves with prominent oil glands and produces clusters of small, yellow flowers that resemble soccer balls. This plant was first described in 1999 and named after Joseph J. Brophy for his work on essential oils. It can be found in the Avon Wheatbelt, Esperance Plains, and Mallee regions of Western Australia, growing in saline, low-lying areas. Currently, it is not considered a threatened species by the Government of Western Australia Department of Parks and Wildlife.
