Leptospermum spinescens, also known as the spiny tea tree, is a shrub species native to Western Australia. It grows up to 1.5 meters tall and has thick, egg-shaped leaves with a short petiole. The flowers are white or greenish cream and the fruit remains on the plant for many years. It was first described in 1837 by Stephan Endlicher and can be found in shrubland areas in the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, and southern Goldfields-Esperance regions of Western Australia. It prefers sandy and lateritic soils.
