Homoranthus vagans is a small shrub with linear leaves and yellow flowers, belonging to the Myrtaceae family. It is only found in a small area in southern Queensland and is known to grow up to 0.2m in height and 2m in width. The leaves are grey-green and arranged opposite along the stem, while the flowers are found in groups of 3-10 in leaf axils. This plant was first described in 2011 and its name, vagans, refers to the habit of its branchlets to wander over the ground. It is currently only known to exist in two populations north of Inglewood, growing in sandy soil derived from sandstone. Due to its limited distribution, Homoranthus vagans is considered vulnerable according to conservation codes.
