Homoranthus binghiensis is a rare flowering plant that belongs to the Myrtaceae family and is found only in a small area in northern New South Wales. It is an upright shrub with pointed leaves and usually has yellow to red flowers. The plant can grow up to 3 meters in height and has lime-green leaves. Its flowers, which bloom from November to December, are usually yellow but can also be red or green-yellow. The plant produces a dry, reddish-brown nut as its fruit. It was first described in 2011 and is named after the Permian sedimentary rocks in the Torrington area. Homoranthus binghiensis is found in heath and shrubby woodland on or near granite outcrops and is considered endangered due to its limited distribution and small number of populations. It is classified as "vulnerable" and given a conservation code of 2VCt.
