Eucalyptus smithii, also known as gully gum, is a tree native to southeastern Australia. It can grow up to 45 meters tall and has rough, dark bark on the trunk and smooth, white bark on the branches. The leaves are lance-shaped and green, and the flowers are white. It was first described in 1899 and is named after chemist Henry George Smith. Gully gum is found in shallow soils on slopes and is used for the production of eucalyptus oil, which is high in cineole. It also has potential in the pulpwood industry.
