Terminalia grandiflora, also known as yalu, plumwood or nutwood, is a deciduous tree native to northern Australia. It is known by different names among different indigenous groups, such as badgari and barnyin. The tree can reach heights of 2 to 15 metres and blooms between March and November with white-cream-yellow flowers. Its bark changes from brown to grey as it ages, and its foliage is pendulous with green leaves. The tree produces succulent purple fruits in December, which are around 4cm long and 2.5cm in diameter. It was first described by botanist George Bentham in 1864 and is found in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and the top end of the Northern Territory. Its scientific name is Myrobalanus grandiflora, and it is also known as columbaroo almond.
