Pimelea spicata, also known as the spiked rice flower, is a slender flowering plant that is native to New South Wales. It belongs to the Thymelaeaceae family and has white flowers and elliptic leaves. Its stems are smooth and it can grow up to 50 cm tall. The flowers are arranged in spikes and bloom from August to December. The plant is found in coastal areas and inland regions of New South Wales. It faces competition from invasive weeds such as bridal creeper, bitou bush, and blackberry. Pimelea spicata was first described in 1810 by Robert Brown and its name means "spicate".
