Pimelea prostrata is a small shrub endemic to New Zealand. It has five subspecies, with stems ranging from 30 to 60 cm long, and small white flowers and blue green leaves. It is poisonous to animals, and was originally used as a source of the toxin prostratin. The name Pimelea is derived from the Greek Pimeleoides, meaning "resembling Pimelea".
