Xerochlamys tampoketsensis is a small tree that belongs to the Sarcolaenaceae family and is native to Madagascar. It can grow up to 5 meters tall and has elliptic to oblong leaves that can reach up to 6 cm in length. The tree produces pale yellow flowers, either solitary or in pairs, and round fruits with black seeds that are about 1.2 cm in diameter. This species is only found in four regions of Madagascar and is typically found in subhumid to dry forests at elevations between 500 to 1,400 meters. Unfortunately, the tree is considered vulnerable due to its limited distribution and only one population being found in a protected area.
