Sphaeralcea incana, also known as gray globemallow or soft globemallow, is a desert plant in the mallow family. It is native to the Chihuahuan and Sonoran Deserts in the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico. This perennial subshrub can grow up to 6 feet tall and has gray leaves covered in short hairs. Its flowers, which bloom from June to October, are a vibrant orange, but can also be found in pink and white varieties. The plant is important for native bees and butterflies and has been traditionally used as a medicinal plant by Native Americans. It is now cultivated as an ornamental plant and is used in native plant and wildlife gardens.
