Melhania volleseniana is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Malvaceae family and is found in East Africa. It can grow up to 50 centimetres tall and has ovate to elliptic leaves that are covered in fine hairs. The plant produces yellow flowers either singly or in clusters of two or three on a short stalk. It is native to Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia and is only found in about 15 locations. It typically grows in Acacia-Commiphora bushland or Combretum grassland at altitudes between 290-700 metres.
