Callirhoe digitata, also known as the fringed poppy mallow or standing wine cup, is a perennial plant found in the United States. It has magenta flowers and is native to Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Alabama, but has also been introduced to Illinois. This plant thrives in sunny areas with dry and alkaline soils. It is recommended for both formal and informal plantings and is able to withstand drought once established. It is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 8, making it a versatile and resilient addition to any garden.
