Abutilon grandifolium, also known as the hairy Indian mallow, is a large shrub with broad leaves and yellow flowers. It is native to tropical America and Central and South Africa, but has been naturalized in other parts of the world. It can be distinguished from a similar species by the type of hairs on its stem. A. grandifolium is considered an invasive species in some regions and has become a problematic weed in riparian zones, grasslands, and shrubland ecosystems. It is particularly harmful to endangered and threatened plant species in Hawaii. While it is not considered a threatened species, it is classified as an invasive or potentially invasive weed in several countries.
