Viola ucriana, also known as Viola di Ucria, is a species of violet plant that is native to Sicily, Italy. It belongs to the Violaceae family and is found exclusively on Mount Pizzuta near Palermo, growing at altitudes of 800-1,300 meters. This plant is typically found in Mediterranean shrubby vegetation and rocky areas. However, it is currently facing a critical threat of extinction as it is only found in two small areas covering a total of 0.2 square kilometers. Viola ucriana is a perennial, evergreen herb with elongated leaves and yellow flowers that bloom in late spring. Due to its limited distribution and habitat loss, it has been listed as a critically endangered species on the IUCN Red List and is part of the IUCN Top 50 Campaign for Mediterranean Island Plants.
