Salix kirilowiana is a shrub or small tree, up to 5 m tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 10 cm. The bark is greyish-brown, with a smooth surface. The leaves are ovate-lanceolate, up to 8 cm long, with a serrate margin. The flowers are yellowish-green, and the fruits are small capsules.
