Salix daltoniana is a shrub or small tree from the willow genus (Salix) native to India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. It grows up to 9 centimeters long and has lanceolate, oblong, or elliptical leaves with serrated edges. The upper side of the leaves is dull green and the underside is densely hairy and lead-gray. It produces male and female catkins, with the female catkins producing ovoid-conical fruits. Salix daltoniana blooms in May to June and the fruits ripen in July. It is part of the willow family (Salicaceae) and was first described in 1859. It is similar to other willow species, but can be distinguished by its unique leaf characteristics.
