This is a summary of Sapria himalayana, a rare holoparasitic flowering plant related to Rafflesia. It is found in the Eastern Himalayas, Northeast India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam. It has a globose visible body, bright red flowers with sulphur-yellow spots, and a putrid odour. It is a root parasite that is usually found on lianas, and it is thought to be pollinated by flies and dispersed by rodents. It flowers and fruits between December and February.
