Subsection Drypetes subsect. Anaua in Section Drypetes sect. Drypetes
What is a Subsection (pl. Subsections)?
In botanical taxonomy, a subsection is a rank used to group closely related species within a section. In the hierarchy, subsection sits below section and typically above series (where that rank is used), and above species.
Subsections bring together species that share distinctive morphological or genetic traits and are more closely related to one another than to species in other subsections of the same section.
