Bridelia micrantha, also known as the mitzeeri or coastal golden-leaf, is a medium to tall tree found in tropical and southern Africa, as well as on the island of Réunion. It has large, simple leaves and can be either deciduous or evergreen. This tree is commonly found in coastal forests, riverine forests, and along forest margins. It is a native species to many countries in Africa and is also found on the island of Réunion. Bridelia micrantha is ecologically significant as it serves as a food source for various butterfly species and the silkmoth Anaphe panda. It has also been used in traditional medicine for various purposes, such as treating headaches, eye infections, and skin conditions. It is also used as a mouthwash for hygiene purposes.
