Breynia retusa is a plant species belonging to the Phyllanthaceae family. It is found in various countries including Bangladesh, China, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Réunion. It is also considered an invasive weed in Réunion. There is some disagreement about whether it is the same species as Sauropus elegantissimus, which is only found in Malaysia. This plant is currently listed as critically endangered, but its status may change depending on its taxonomic classification.
