Croton setiger, also known as turkey mullein and dove weed, is a plant native to the western United States and northwest Mexico. It has also been naturalized in other parts of the world, including Australia. This plant has hexagon-shaped leaves that are pale pink green in color and small green flowers covered in soft bristles. It is often used as an ornamental plant due to its low and rounded form, making it suitable for pot cultivation. However, the foliage of this plant is toxic to animals and was traditionally used by Native Americans to stupefy fish for easier catching. Despite its toxicity, the seeds of Croton setiger are eaten by birds, which is why it is commonly known as turkey mullein and dove weed.
