Lilium formosanum, also known as the Formosa lily or Taiwanese lily, is a plant species endemic to Taiwan. It is closely related to the Easter lily found in Japan and is known for its showy, trumpet-shaped flowers. The plant has become naturalized in scattered locations around the world. In Taiwan, it is known by various names such as wild lily, trumpet flower, mountain garlic, and master's flask. The Hakka ethnic group also refers to it as the flower of broken bowl, as they believe harming the lily may damage the environment, similar to breaking a bowl that people rely on. Parents also use this belief to discourage children from picking the flower.
