Fritillaria purdyi, also known as Purdy's fritillary, is a rare flowering plant found in northwestern California, USA. It is typically found in the serpentine soils of the California Coast Ranges. This herbaceous perennial grows up to 40 centimeters tall and has ovate leaves up to 10 centimeters long. The stem is topped with a cluster of cup- or bell-shaped flowers, each with 6 white tepals that are marked with brownish-purple streaks and have a pink tint. This unique and beautiful plant is a special find for those lucky enough to come across it in its natural habitat.
