Wurmbea tenella, also known as eight nancy, is a perennial herb native to Western Australia. It grows up to 10 cm tall and has three distinct leaves. The plant produces one or occasionally two bisexual flowers with white or pink flushed tepals. Its stamens are about 2/3 the length of the perianth and have purple or red anthers. Wurmbea tenella is typically found in wet areas, such as granite outcrops, sandy plains, and eucalypt woodlands. It was first described in 1846 by Stephen Endlicher and later transferred to the genus Wurmbea by George Bentham in 1878. The specific epithet, tenella, refers to the delicate nature of the plant. It is not considered threatened by the Western Australian Government Department of Parks and Wildlife.
