Wurmbea pygmaea is a small plant belonging to the Colchicaceae family, native to Australia. It is a perennial herb with a height ranging from 1 to 5 cm. The plant produces white or pink flowers during the months of May to July. It is found in various regions of south-western Western Australia, including Avon Wheatbelt, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest, and Swan Coastal Plain. The plant thrives in different types of soils such as red or brown sand, clay, and gravelly soils, and can also be found on granite outcrops.
