Wurmbea dilatata is a unique plant species belonging to the Colchicaceae family, native to Australia. It is a perennial herb with a cormous root system and can reach a height of 5-12 cm. The plant produces beautiful pink and white flowers during the month of August. It is mainly found in the Avon Wheatbelt, Geraldton Sandplains, and Swan Coastal Plain regions of Western Australia. The plant thrives in a variety of soil types, including white, yellow, and grey sands, as well as clay soils.
