The timber is used for furniture, flooring, and construction.
Endiandra sieberi, also known as the corkwood, is a rainforest tree commonly found in eastern Australia. It can grow up to 30 meters tall and has a straight, cylindrical trunk with a fawnish grey, corky bark. The leaves are simple and entire, with a mid-green color on the top and paler green underneath. The tree produces cream or yellow flowers from June to October, followed by egg-shaped black fruit that is eaten by rainforest birds. The tree's timber is light colored, hard, and close-grained, and is used for furniture, flooring, and construction. Despite its name, the bark of the corkwood is not a successful substitute for cork.
