Endiandra floydii, also known as Crystal Creek walnut, is a small rainforest tree named after Australian botanist Alexander Floyd. Despite its name, it is not related to northern-hemisphere walnuts and is actually a type of laurel. It is found in the Mount Warning area of New South Wales and some parts of Queensland, growing in rainforests and as an understorey plant on moderately steep slopes. This species is considered endangered and has a ROTAP rating of 2E. It has pinkish brown new leaves and pale to dark grey bark, with elliptic to narrow-elliptic leaves that are 5-15 cm long and 2-5 cm wide. In autumn, small creamy green flowers appear, followed by large fruit that ripens in summer and is the size of an apple or pear. The fruit is red to purplish black when ripe and germination is reliable and not particularly slow.
