Cryptocarya foveolata, commonly known as the mountain walnut, is a rainforest tree from the laurel family found in eastern Australia. It grows at high altitudes, from 600 metres above sea level, and is unusually tall for its genus. It has a smooth brown bark with vertical bumps, and its leaves are ovate or elliptical with a prominent tip and two hollow glands at the base. It flowers in December to February and produces a fleshy black drupe with a single seed inside from October to January.
