Eremophila ovata is a small, rounded shrub with hairy branches and leaves, and pink or purple flowers with white interiors. It is endemic to the Northern Territory and can grow up to 1 meter in height and width. The leaves are elliptic to egg-shaped and covered in hairs. The flowers are solitary and have green, lance-shaped sepals and lilac-colored petals. It mainly blooms in winter and spring, followed by oval-shaped, hairy fruits. This plant was first described in 1979 and its name refers to the shape of its leaves. It is found in the George Gill and Gardiner Ranges in the Northern Territory and is considered of least concern in terms of conservation. Eremophila ovata is fast-growing but short-lived and can be propagated through cuttings or grafting. It thrives in well-drained soil and is drought and frost tolerant.
