Eremophila hughesii is a unique flowering plant found only in Australia. It is a spindly shrub with narrow leaves and produces flowers in various colors such as blue, pink, and white. It is native to Western Australia and the Northern Territory, growing in sand and gravelly soils in mulga woodland or spinifex grassland. The plant was first described in 1874 and is named after Sir Walter Hughes, the founder of the University of Adelaide. It is not considered a threatened species and can be propagated for horticultural use, but is sensitive to frost.
