Buddleja thyrsoides is a shrub species that is native to southern Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. It was first described by Lamarck in 1792. The shrub can grow up to 3 meters tall and has tan bark with white tomentum on its young branches. Its leaves are linear or linear-lanceolate in shape and can grow up to 15 cm long. The inflorescences are white and fragrant, and can reach up to 15 cm in length. There are two subspecies of this plant, distinguished by their narrower seeds and denser tomentum. Neither the species nor its subspecies are currently cultivated.
